Is mod_geoip installed on Apache server?
Due to security reasons (brute force attack and so), I would like to use GEOIP_COUNTRY_CODE in my .htaccess file.
I tried
SetEnvIf GEOIP_COUNTRY_CODE BlockCountry
Deny from env=BlockCountry
This does not appear to be installed on the managed fleet, no. You can set this up on an Unmanaged VPS, of course, as you would have root access. You can see our unmanaged plans at http://www.site5.com/vps/unmanaged/
Hello James,
It is somewhere a pitty to not have it installed in managed fleet as
– this is the more sensible place regarding attacks.
– Unmanaged VPS is much more expensive (twice) than my current hostpro + turbo plan, too much for no so much advantage actually.
We do have multiple systems in place to prevent attacks, so the managed fleet is quite secure. However, if this is the only customization you are looking at, an unmanaged VPS may not be the way to go.
