I’m working on a project at the moment that requires me to implement a long-polling solution. Given that Apache is inefficient with this method, and would quickly tie up resources, I was wondering what solutions are available in a site5 environment?

– Node.js;
– Lighttpd;

Currently on our shared hosting services we only offer Apache, the same for our VPS solutions.

Long term we might offer additional solutions but not currently, we focus just on Apache,

Do you offer any unmanaged VPS solutions in Australia so I can install node.js myself and have it run concurrently with Apache?

We don’t offer any unmanaged VPS’ yet. We’re looking on getting that released later this year
