What is involved transferring a CMS site to another domain with MultiSite/MultiAdmin?

I’ve created a site using a CMS on my primary domain (it uses a MySQL database). If I add a new additional domain, which is currently hosted elsewhere, by changing the DNS records, how should I go about transferring this site to the new domain? I’m a bit unclear on how MultiSite/MultiAdmin works. Does each domain have it’s own root directory? (I assume so). Do these root directories “see” each other? Could the subdirectory of my current root be be aliased into the root of the other? Or would it be best to dump the MySQL database and transfer that information manually into the other domain’s root? I’ve put a fair bit of work into the CMS site already, so I’m looking for the most straightforward method of transferring it as possible.

If you only want to have the content available on the new domain, you can rename the domain it is on. You can request that by going to https://backstage.site5.com, click on Addons, and then “Domain Change”.

If you want it available on both the old and new domain, it depends on the CMS. If you created both domains in Multisite, they will be completely isolated from each other, so they have their own document roots / root directories. You will need to dump the database, and copy the files over to the new domain.

The directories cannot be linked, as they will be isolated, due to being 2 separate accounts in multiadmin.
