I am buying a domain from someone who already registered it, and I will hopefully transfer it to my existing Site5 account. I have all the whois info on their domain and their verbal agreement to release it and send me a domain authorization code after I send payment. How does this work, and what else do I need?

It really all depends on a few things. If you are getting control of the domain registration, you can change the nameservers and contact information on the domain, then transfer it to us normally using your BackStage > Domains interface. The real key would be who the registrar is, as some have a few quirky requirements along the way.
