We have been contacted by a Chinese domain name registration company informing us that they have had a request for a company wanting to use the same domain name as ours, and the company itself has said it is going ahead with the registration application, my question is, what are the legalities of this? Do we have any recourse?

Hello,

As long as you have the domain name registered, up to date, and locked (preventing transfer) there is no way to ‘lose’ the domain. I would recommend contacting our support team to check the domain status, and make sure everything is secured.

It is a scam.. I’ve been contacted about several of my domain names.. apparently there is a chinese company called “paulpichugin” (my name) who want to register domains.
