Move addon domain to its own account

Hi there.

I have made some work for at friend, but now I wan’t her domains to have there own account at Site5.

How do we do that?

Give my friend her own account and move her two domains from my account to the new one? (I still need access to her account for maintenance). She is not going to be my “customer”, and therefore I would like her to pay for herself.

Her two domains (that are on my addon-list today) are:

www.birgittemunch.dk
www.birgitte-munch.dk

Can you help me?

Hi Lars,

Moving from an addon domain to a main domain is actually a little more complicated than you might think. There are several steps involved, and there will be a point where there is no site for the domain.

1 – make a backup of all site files for the domains you are moving.

2 – remove the addon domain

3 – create the new account with the domain

4 – upload the site files from your local backup

That should be all you need to do. Note that step 2 removes the site completely, so from there until you are done, there will be no site at the domain.
