I am getting a lot of spam. I am training spam assassin, but there is still a lot that gets through. spam assassin suggests running: sa-update from http://wiki.apache.org/spamassassin/RunningSaUpdate. Do I need to restart the spam assassin daemon?
You would not need to restart the SpamAssassin daemon.
If you are training SpamAssassin (sa-learn) and a large number of spam emails are still making it through, I recommend that you contact our support department and provide a copy of the email (including headers) so that we can look into possible reasons on why it is making it past SpamAssassin.
For information on how to retrieve the email headers, please see our KnowledgeBase article on the subject by clicking the following link… http://kb.site5.com/email/email-headers/
You can submit a ticket by going to the support tab of Backstage, or by emailing us directly at [email protected]
Please keep in mind that the sa-learn process does take time for it to start making a noticeable difference (days to sometimes weeks).
We look forward to hearing from you and helping you rid your inbox of the pesky spam. 🙂
