Why are 404 errors not showing up in my logs?

This normally happens when you are using WordPress or other similar scripts that send all requests to the index page using url redirects. Because with the URL redirect, according to the server it always loads a page correctly (it does), its WordPress itself that sends the 404 error. You may be able to find plugins that keep logs of any 404 errors so you can keep track of them.
