Can I host domains outside of public_html?

[476 Blue Star Level]

I have a project where some of the files need to be hosted outside of my public_html directory. Is this possible on Site5’s servers?

While it is allowed, you may find that it might not work right away. This is because a restart of Apache is required for that kind of setup.

However, you can use a symbolic link to get around limitation of Apache. You can create the addon domain and point it to public_html and then symbolically link it to a folder outside of the public_html.
