Why can’t I have CHMOD/Permission 777?

[476 Blue Star Level]

Why am I not allowed to use CHMOD 777 on my files?

Answer #1

On some servers, CHMOD 777 is required for some applications. However, because of the PHP loader we use (SuPHP) and the way it handles permission levels, 777 is not needed. Simply replace any file that would need CHMOD 777 with CHMOD 755.
