I can certainly understand and appreciate your love of the forum! I too love the interactional focus of forums. For now, we’re shifting focus to this QA and KB sites.
About 8 months or so ago, we drastically revamped the forums. In that process, we actually removed (hid) old threads from view. After discussing with staff about any threads they referenced to customers as well as consulting some customers directly, we determined that 99.9% of the threads were actually outdated. While the information was once accurate, that was no longer the case.
We may bring back the forums at a later date, but that is yet to be determined. The idea certainly isn’t to stifle communication but to change the location of that communication from the forums to this site.
