Hello guys,
I am novice on WordPress and have recently started my blog over it. I want to integrate it with a commenting system. Can somebody illustrate me the right procedure to do so?
Adding a plugin to WordPress is a fairly simple process, though there are a few ways to do it. The simplest is to access the WordPress admin area at yourdomain.com/wp-admin (changing yourdomain.com to your actual domain name), then clicking Plugins in the left menu, and Add New. You can search for the plugin you want to add there, and should be able to just click it to install it.
If you have the plugin downloaded locally, you can upload it to your account using FTP. Simply place the extracted plugin files in the wp-content/plugins folder. In most cases, all of the files will be in a folder named after the plugin, and you should upload that folder and all contents. After it is uploaded, go to the admin area again, then Plugins on the left menu, and you should see it there to enable.
Hello Phil,
@jdavey has answered your query adequately. I don’t think there is any point left unexplained. Only thing I would like to say, for integrating your website or blog with a comment option, first you need to decide which commenting system would like to use. Disqus, WordPress, livefire, viafoura, etc. are some prominent examples of such commenting systems. There are number of plugins available on net, which can help you to meet your desire. I would advise you to go with wpDiscuz – WordPress Comments because I have personally used it. Although, you can also search on internet for other options. Once you have selected then can proceed further for installation of that plugin. Procedure illustrated by jdavey is so helpful for you.
